Your Questions, Answered.

  • A doula helps a woman have a safe, satisfying and empowered birth experience whether in a hospital, birth center or at home. Birth doulas do not perform medical tasks or make decisions for the family, but they work alongside medical providers to support the birthing person’s preferences and well-being.

  • No! I do not perform any medical tasks, but rather work alongside your medical providers to protect your preferences and peace.

  • No! My first goal is to help foster a memorable, positive experience for you and your partner. I can give them helpful tools and suggestions along the way to help you feel supported.

If your partner is uncomfortable in the birthing space or unable to be present for any reason, I can gladly fill that role as your birth partner.

  • Yes! My typical payment schedule for birth doula clients is a $500 deposit, $500 at 20 weeks, $500 at 36 weeks. If you join me later in your pregnancy I’m happy to divide that up differently as long as you’re paid in full by 36 weeks.

Birth Preference Session payments are due at the time of booking.

  • I’m well versed in spinning babies positioning whether you’re laboring unmedicated or with an epidural. I also have picked up many techniques along the way that I implement depending on how your labor is progressing. And of course the famous hip squeezes are always a favorite :)

  • No! I work with families of all belief systems. I do think it’s important to know that being a christian very much informs my view of birth, but if a family is not religious I would never bring anything into your birth space that made you uncomfortable.

  • Yes! During pregnancy I typically recommend my clients get connected with an IBCLC (I have recs!) for a prenatal visit. I am equipped to help with initial latch and basic breastfeeding questions, but typically defer to IBCLC’s for in-depth questions.

  • No!! I support all types of birth whether you’re desiring a completely hands-off homebirth or a scheduled c-section, and all things in between!
